Honda Kills S2000

Honda has been cutting back a few product launches the last few weeks. First it's Acura brand killed the NSX. Then Honda announced that they would not be making a convertible hybrid based on the CR-Z. Now they announced three more killings.

1. No more S2000. I will admit I've only seen one or two of these around time. A yellow one zips around Westwood from time to time. I was never of fan of the styling but I like the idea of the car. Anything but a Miata works for me in this genre.

2. No RWD 7-series rival for Acura. I'm slowly wondering why they even have the Acura brand. Since Honda isn't big in F1 driving anymore which was the whole backbone of Acura's marketing when the brand was launched. Now Acura is the marketed as the iPod of cars for people who like tech gadgets.

3. No more US Accord vs the Other Accord. Honda makes two Accords. They make the one that is only sold in the US which is bigger and wider than it's European cousin. The other Accord is sold in the US but it's the Acura TSX. Wonder what that means for the TSX. Maybe Acura is dead!
