Audi is really targeting every single automotive niche including the 4-door coupe niche targeting the Mercedes CLS. When the Mercedes CLS first came out it was a breathtaking new look on the road. Who'd ever thought of a 4-door coupe? It was something new in car design for the real world. The only problem is the the new VW Passat CC and others will arrive before the A7 making this novelty seem like old news. 
Even Hyundai has been spotted testing a 4-door coupe.
