2009 Ford Ka

Ford Motor CompanyImage via WikipediaThis is the perfect example of why Ford of Europe is better than Ford of North America, the Ka! Yes, gas in now less than a buck fifty a gallon but not everyone drives or needs a big Explorer. And bringing the Ka to the USofA isn't about just gas prices it is about capturing the youth market. Let's face it, finding someone under 30 driving a Ford or Mercury these days is hard! The Yaris, Fit, Versa and Smart are the younger cars along with the Scions and a few other smaller cars. You see a few Used Ford Focus driving near UCLA from time to time but not so much. Ford pretty much left the small car market over a decade ago leaving it with no legacy buyers. I'm not saying that everyone who drives a Yaris will some day buy a Camry but at least that buyer will now Toyota. Come on Ford, bring us the Ka! You might not make bundles of cash on it but consider it an investment in future sales. Ford has some great cars coming including the Fusion and the new Taurus. They just need to get on people's shopping list. Right now I say price the 2009 Fusion at only $1.00 over cost for the first year. Get them on the road so people see them and like them. Cars are HUGE advertisements that will payoff more than any one 30 second ad on the Super Bowl.
