With GM up on the hill begging for some money just about every news site is having some sort of death watch with various slide shows showing how each of the Big 3 went wrong. One brand that deserves special attention is Buick.

Why Buick? My parents are retired and live in Florida and although they drive a 2006 Toyota minivan for driving around the grand kids all the other vehicles on the block are Ford's, Chrysler's, Buick's and Cadillac's. After a recent visit I saw plenty of two door coupes and convertibles. So many PT Cruisers and Sebrings mixed in between the golf carts that dot in and out of the compound.
Buick could do much better in my opinion. Much better than Pontiac or Saturn. Buick needs a Sebring Convertible killer. Not only do the old folks love them in Florida they can be seen on the roads of Southern California. Buick needs to target the 40+ market with near Euro-luxury Caddy is going with the Science thingy so Buick can go in a different direction And it looks like they may with reports that Buick will be going all Europe with Opel leaving Saturn out in the cold. The only thing about Buick is that sharing the showroom with GMC some of the showrooms are very basic and rough. Compared to the newly redesigned Saturn dealerships. GM would need to fold some of these Saturn dealerships to Buick. Continue with current Saturns and then in time drop the Aura and keep the Astra and add a few small euro economy cars. Saturn could the the Euro Eco-Friendly Car Company and Buick the Euro Near Luxury Car Company. They'd go hand in hand. Add in Saturns no haggle sales pitch and you got two winners.
