Over the weekend the embargo on the new Porsche Panamera was lifted and photos hit the interweb. I've been looking at these photos and more over and over and just can't decide if I love it or hate it. The picture below show the rear end which in this picture isn't so bad. In some ways it does remind me of the Chrysler Crossfire. Not that I was a fan of the Crossfire but it wasn't the ugliest thing on the road. As for the Panamera I keep asking myself, does the world really need a 4 door Porsche.
The answer to that is Yes. Don't expect this to be seen on every other street like the Boxster unless you live in Dubai. This car will sell and it will bring lots of fresh press to Porsche. Considering how much print and blog posts have already been out on this car it's become a huge pr win for the car maker. So it won't cover the cost of development and costs of production but it's a start.
Is it a winner for Porsche? It will be. Style wise this isn't a classic but it does suit a market niche that brings Panamera head to head with Ashton Martin Riptide and the Lamborghini Estoque. Not bad company to be running around with if you ask me.
