Picking On The Kia Soul Interior

Not being a fan of two tone interiors I'm not over the moon crazy about the interior.  Red?  Unless this is part of the (red) campaign and I can feel good about driving the way to a cure for AIDS I don't want to look at red all the time.  The plastics and seat material look cheap but this is an econo car with a jazzy exterior.  I will do another post about the fact that I like the Soul more than the Scion and Cube.  As for the speedo controls they aren't so bad.  Once again this is just an econo car inside a rolling box for the Gen Y'ers.  It's simple, it's practical, it's to the point and it does what it has to do.  It takes the basics of all it needs to do and presents it in an appealing way.  I do wonder what color the back lighting will be at night?  I so don't want another tron like light show going on when I'm driving.Another winning design for the Soul.  It reminds me of a Sony discman which the driver may recall that discman followed walkmans but were before the iPod.  Kia took simple basic controls and presented them in a simple good looking package.  I don't like the fake tin chrome in the center of the controls and think it would have been so much more handsome if it was all the same plastic blackish.  Kia was even able to give the hazzard button an interesting position and look.  So many times the hazzard's seem like an after thought to car companies.

Overall this is a good interior for an econo car.  In fact it look's better than some of the mid class cars on the road today.
